History of the Northwest I-90 Manufacturing Alliance
The Northwest I-90 Manufacturing Alliance (NIMA) is dedicated to strengthening manufacturing across the Pacific Northwest by connecting manufacturers, suppliers, educators, and regional partners throughout Washington, Idaho, and Montana. Originally founded in the mid-2000s as the Inland Northwest Aerospace Consortium (INWAC), the organization began with a focus on supporting aerospace manufacturers across the Inland Northwest through collaboration, business connections, and increased regional visibility.
As manufacturing across the region continued to grow and diversify, the organization evolved into NIMA to better support advanced manufacturing across multiple industries. Today, NIMA helps companies of all sizes build partnerships, support workforce development, share industry knowledge, and create new opportunities through a strong regional manufacturing network focused on long-term growth and competitiveness.
